The Silicon Valley Global Awards brings together the most entrepreneurial minds in Silicon Valley and beyond to honor top Irish and Irish-American executives making a significant impact in their field. A total of fifty executives are selected and honored each year. The event generates rich networking opportunities, and showcases experts and innovators from the ITLG community advancing technology today.

Simon Harris, Minister for Health
Simon is a native of County Wicklow and has been involved in the community all his life. Simon first became involved in politics through his work as a disability advocate and is committed to providing a strong voice on issues relating to special needs and mental health. Before entering politics, Simon established the Wicklow Triple A Alliance, a charity to support children and families affected by Autism. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann in the 2011 General Election and was the youngest member of the 31st Dáil. Simon was re-elected as TD for Wicklow & East Carlow in 2016 and subsequently appointed Minister for Health.
Young Innovator Award
Gillian Barry, Head of Innovation & Enterprise, LIT
Gillian is head of Head of Innovation & Enterprise at LIT, the higher education institute with the largest portfolio of enterprise centresin Ireland supporting around 100 ventures p.a. who create circa €1.1bn economic value annually. She worked for over a decade in software development, business analysis and project management for technology companies in Ireland & the UK before joining LIT. A board member of Start-up Ireland, she helped lead The Start-up Gathering directed by the Department of Business, Enterprise & Innovation (DBEI) which engaged around 18k people from the start-up ecosystem in Ireland. Together with the ITLG she led the development of ITLG Young Innovators which has seen almost 1,200 attendees for each event 2014, 2016 and 2018.Gillian is a business & computing graduate and has a first class Executive MBA from UCC

Bracken Darrell, CEO, Logitech
As president and chief executive officer of Logitech, Bracken P. Darrell is responsible for Logitech’s strategy for growth and profitability, for the vision for the brand as well as for the company’s operations. Mr. Darrell joined Logitech as president in April 2012, and assumed the role of chief executive officer in January 2013.
Mr. Darrell brings to Logitech more than twenty years of experience in business management and brand management in successful global consumer companies, including Whirlpool, Procter & Gamble and General Electric. His broad executive management experience has spanned manufacturing, supply chain, product innovation, consumer services and marketing – targeting customers in mature and emerging markets. He has led growth and reinvention for iconic brands such as Old Spice, Gillette, Braun, KitchenAid and Whirlpool.
Bracken Darrell holds an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School and a B.A. degree in English from Hendrix College in Arkansas.
